New Mexicans’ hearts and livelihoods are rooted in our traditions and open spaces. We must work to conserve and protect our natural lands, waters, wildlife, and heritage while ensuring these resources are resilient against the effects of the climate crisis. Conserving and restoring our lands and waters will help protect our communities from floods, fires, storms, and other impacts of climate change, safeguarding the natural resources we rely on for food, jobs, and recreation.
Climate & Energy
We are at a climate crisis tipping point in New Mexico. We must transition away from our dependence on dirty fossil fuels that pollute our environment and distort our economy. Working together, we can build a zero-emission energy economy that not only provides clean energy jobs but also will bolster our communities and protect frontline communities most impacted by pollution.
Elections
Our mission is to connect New Mexicans to their political power and elect environmental leaders who not only represent the broad diversity of our state, but will work to protect our deeply rooted values for conservation and democracy. We support candidates that we know will lead on the climate crisis, and protect our air, land, water, wildlife, and resilient communities for future generations.
WHAT WE DO
Verde Voters Fund is a political action committee of Conservation Voters New Mexico, a statewide, nonpartisan nonprofit committed to connecting the people of New Mexico to their political power to protect our air, land, water, wildlife, and resilient communities. We do this by mobilizing voters, winning elections, holding elected officials accountable, and advancing responsible public policies. We believe it's time to usher into public office a diverse wave of leaders that will represent New Mexicans’ deeply shared conservation values while addressing the climate crisis, protecting public lands and water, and transitioning to a 100% clean energy economy.
